Bridging the Gap

When you give to your local YMCA, you help ensure that others in your community are able to afford memberships for themselves and their families with our Bridging the Gap Program. This program allows low income individuals to improve their health and have access to warm showers by helping us offer assistance to those who otherwise would not be able to afford a Y membership.

Second Grade Swim Lessons

With so many bodies of water around our New River Valley, being a competent swimmer is an important skill to have. With this in mind, our YMCA  offers free second grade swim lessons to five elementary schools in our county. The children are bused to our Y during their PE hours for 6 weeks. While here they learn about boater's safety with our Coast Guard Auxiliary and basic swimming skills from our Y staff. When you give to the Y you help ensure all second graders are equipped with skills to keep them safe around water.

The Pulaski County YMCA Gators

The PCY Gators Swim Team was reestablished in 2016. Since then the team has provided kids ages 5-18 with a competitive swimming experience, competing against other YMCAs in Virginia and North Carolina. We have been able to grow every year, but we couldn’t do it without the help of our community. Help us continue our tradition of teaching our youths to be “Good Swimmers, Better People” and give today!

When you make a purchase with  A portion of your purchase goes directly to our PCY Gator swim team with each of your orders.
